Wedding Day Weather Contingency Planning in Ohio
Wedding Day Weather Contingency Planning in Ohio
If you're getting married outdoors in Cincinnati, you need a weather plan. Ohio weather is famously unpredictable — but with the right preparation, it doesn't have to be a problem.
Rule #1: Have a Backup Location
Every outdoor ceremony plan should have a named indoor or covered backup. Not "we'll figure it out" — a specific space, confirmed in advance.
Rain Doesn't Ruin Photos
Overcast skies produce soft, even light that's actually ideal for portraits. Light rain with an umbrella can be genuinely romantic. A downpour calls for covered spaces, which create their own moody atmosphere.
Heat Management
- Schedule portraits early or late — avoid the 12-3pm window in summer
- Have water and fans accessible
- Choose shaded portrait locations
Cold Weather Tips
- Layer. A beautiful coat over your dress can be part of the look.
- Keep the bridal party moving during outdoor portraits
- Warm drinks and hand warmers go a long way
